meaning behind the illustrative use of sexuality in the Bible
In

Below
are a couple of New testament passages that cause a lot of trouble because of
some people’s naive interpretation. These examples are then followed by the
true interpretation of what a sexually appetite REALLY
means.
If
you are a careful reader you will see that it was the world rulers.. the
leaders.. the judges and the priests (those who were also responsible for the
crucifying of Jesus) who were the ones being accused of having a harmful sexual
appetite all the time.
Is Scripture literally talking about sex?
Examples
"That
is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their
females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and
likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became
violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, men with men, working
what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due
for their error. And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate
knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things
not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness,
covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious
disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty,
self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without
understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.
Although these know full well the righteous decree of God, that those
practicing such things are deserving of death, they not only keep on doing
them but also consent with those practicing them.
Romans

therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication,
uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness, which is
idolatry.
Colossians

fornicating heart that has turned aside from me and at their eyes that are
going in fornication after their dungy idols; and they will certainly feel
a loathing in their faces at the bad things that they have done in all their
detestable things.

murders, adulteries, covetings, acts of wickedness, deceit, loose conduct, an
envious eye, blasphemy, haughtiness, unreasonableness. All these wicked things
issue forth from within and defile a man.’
